  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC-X STAGE 3 and 3.5 Now Begins...

Don't worry. I'm like you, a stage 4. Stage 3 orders have to be placed before 1st December. My guess is that orders will then start to ship pretty soon after. I think stage 4 ordering will start around 2nd December with orders shipping around January time.

Just my guess, but it's not going to get to Dragon launch in late 2012 before stage 4 is shipping.

How do you think what the sum will be in invoice? 10500 or 28000? It is important because of taxes. And is it possible to ask RED to make shipping from RED UK not from RED USA?
 
Epic-x stage 3 seems like a great deal!
I recently had the MX upgrade done - does that affect the trade-in value at all?

Interesting times ...

Bit of a quandary for us.

Stage 3.5 with red one MX. Red One MX currently renting okay. Do we P/X it for the EPIC-X and spend $10,000 plus and have one camera - or do we keep the MX and just buy a scarlet as well - spending the same money but ending up with two cameras!

Anyone else stuck with this?

I'm sure RED will clarify this situation in the near future. I also need to decide if I wish to order trade-in from the UK or from the US.
 
Whats the situation for us renters who use Nikon mounts please (dumb mount).. Is there one out there yet?

Also, weren't we originally getting a bomb evf ?. .

Plus, can I have a Monstro sensor in mine, I want to be bleeding edge, these three year gaps between sensor announcemnets and availability is holding me back ;) I have no desire to buy an mx sensor frankly, which is also the case with my R1

Go 3.5!

You can always sell it for full price and buy yourself three Scarlet. Or one and spend the money left on lenses and stuff.
Never get stuck with old technique. Move on.

Upgrade your camera, sell Epic in 2012. Buy three Scarlets.. ;)

Lets hope our cameras breed this week..

edit: sorry tyrone, didn't know you were stage 3.5 .. i think stage 3 and 3.5 are merging..

Who did already get an email from Red Europe?
How much do they charge for the 5000 US-Dollar?

RED charges online a so called EPIC Stage 3 Pre Payment = 5000 US-Dollar. You have to pay the rest as soon your camera is ready to ship.
RED Europe charges 3,230 £. As Federico Rizzo has mentioned...

That's good to know - RED Europe must be working on about a $1.54 - £1 exchange rate which isn't bad. I'm working everything out on a $1.50 - £1 exchange rate to be safe.

I guess this question got lost in other discussion but is it possible to trade out accessories for others that are prefered?
