Ok ... so today is a pretty good day.

I'm a Canon owner, lots of 5D's over the years and currently a 1DC which produces really quite a beautiful image. I've shot with lots of other cameras, recently a fair bit with the FS7 which I didn't get on with at all ... but for years, pretty much since the ONE I've wanted a RED, for many reasons, for the frame rates, the resolution, that look and so recently I decided to take the plunge. Budget dictated a nice new Scarlet set up .. and then i started looking at the marketplace on here .. and realised I was actually in Epic territory. I shoot a lot of action, motorsports, action sports so the higher frame rates really appealed ... I contacted a member here and a deal was done, I was of course really quite apprehensive about sending such a large amount of money to someone I'd never met for a camera I'd never used ... but Bill was an absolute pleasure to deal with and today the camera arrived ...

Its something I've wanted for along time, for years ... and so to finally own a RED feels really quite special. I'm shooting this weekend in Canada, I feel really quite inspired!

There's a ton of kit, cages, handles along with all the usual kit ... I'm super pleased and glad to be part of the RED Family.

It is indeed quite a step up ! ... but something I'm going to thoroughly enjoy, learn and see where this journey takes me !

for the moment I'm going to stick with my Canon glass as I have pretty much the entire focal range. However plans over the coming months are a PL mount and some RED primes as a cheaper way into that side of things.

One immediate need is a BOMB .. so I'm looking in the marketplace at the moment!!

When you start looking for a set of RED Pro Primes, I have a friend with a very well kept set he's thinking of selling.

Welcome to the party!

Best thing to ever happen to me was my daughter and ordering my red! Keep your canons around for little gigs or just for stills over all for you to run and gun very easily. But your going to see that now nothing can compare to your red.

Stephan .. Welcome to Reduser. Not sure what part of the country you are in but there is a Toronto Red User group that meets every so often. Really good bunch of guys and everyone is very generous with their knowledge. That is the one thing about the Red community as a whole, very generous and with a wide variety of expertise. Enjoy.
