  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC-X at IBC...

EPIC-X will be the most important model in our lineup. The RED ONE is historical because it was our 1st camera and truly changed the industry. But EPIC-X will go down as the one people remember 50 years from now. IMHO.

Jim

What about Epic FF35 Monstro??

What about Epic FF35 Monstro??

Malick called Jim up and told him it wasnt that big of a deal, and he should focus his efforts on Scarlet :w00t:

EPIC-X will be the 1st one released and that is the prototype we will bring. Since Scarlet uses all the same modules, you'll really be looking at the system for both.

The prototype we will bring is missing the ASIC. We will bring a few surprises that do operate however.

Jim

YES!!!, THIS is why we jumped the line and have been slowly pairing down our RED ONE acks....

I had a feeling serving the faithful with EPIC X made the most sense... especially logistically speaking, with taking all those trade-ins.

I might have to day trade Fed Ex when RED announces EPIC is shipping.

Excellent, I will be there with the Hocus Focus remote follow focus, so will defiantly come and see this.

EPIC-X is the beginning of the EPIC/Scarlet lineup. Since it will be released 1st, it will get the historical attention. That's all I meant.

Easy to say that the RED ONE was the tipping point for this industry. As a camera collector, there is no question that these will be the most desirable objects to own from the RED program and will have the most value long term.

Totally agree with you Jim, btw, I always enjoy visiting artifact museums, and would love to see any shots of your camera collection :) as I imagine would be something else..

Now we know what was in the suitcase!

Fantastic!!!

I feel like smashing my computer screen and laughing maniacally like Patrick Bateman I'm so excited.

That's a dirty rotten lie Shawn! I talked to him this afternoon and he said the only camera he cared about was the FF35 Monstro. :D

Congratulations Jim & Team, you've stayed true to your vision and word...

But thanks most of all for doing things the right way. We've all learnt a lot.

Design, Photography, Cinema...Badassery.. Love it.

The proto is the final one. It is representative of what we will be shipping. We are very proud of where we are and what the future looks like.

Jim

Hope others won't try to copy you guys on aesthetics before its release.

This is so cool. Better chase those cheques and see if I can russle up the cash for the flight. I can't wait!
