I'm very sad to notify to the comunity that my Epic was stolen last night from my father's house in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico. Nobody was hurt and the camera is insured so the only real loss will be the time it will take to replace it. We were about to start our second feature film with it this friday so the bussiness loss will also be very real as well.

Please keep an eye for it. The location where it happened is very close to Arizona (3 hours by car) so it might show up in Tucson, Phoenix and other nearby places.

I'll update this post if anything relevant happens or if there's new information about the robbery.

I don't know if this is the right place to post this so feel free to move the thread to a proper location if needed.

Thanks for your help and support on this sad moments.

damn, sorry to hear that:furious3:...i hope you get your baby back!

sorry to hear that

Urgh - that sucks Luis :-( The "problem" with someone stealing an Epic X is that it's worth a lot more than what we paid for it. Basically that means that while the insurance may come through, you can't buy another camera at the same price. That means, if it's possible everyone should insure their Epic X cameras for the price of an Epic M.

Or insure them for the price of an Epic-X. You'd be replacing an X with an X, right?

Or did you mean, "You can't replace the camera quickly unless you buy an M"? That is certainly a good point.
I wonder if the Red Team would let the victim of a theft jump the line to get a replacement camera quickly. I'm sure everyone would be OK with that (I certainly would, it could happen to any of us)
Luis, sorry to hear of your loss. I ave had gear ripped off of a job and know that awful violated feeling. Glad no one was hurt...
Cheers,
Harry

Sorry to hear. Hearing this really reinforces all the extra measures we take to protect our gear. Hope you get back on track swiftly.

Good luck.

Sorry Luis to hear what happened , i will keep my eyes open in Vancouver , or if i see something i will let you know.

Thanks for your replies, it makes a huge difference to feel your support, exactly what I expected rom the excellent reduser crowd.

We're already working with Red to get a replacement asap, even thoug it's sunday. As usual, amazing costumer service, this has made us feel a lot better.

Thanks to all!

Time again for the RED Detective and Interdiction force to come to the rescue! REDDI is a new organization that does one thing and does it good. They find the culprit who has stolen your RED camera and they put them down quickly and without remorse.

Anyone else think it is time for a special unit! Chime in. We can hire really hot chicks to do the research and they can pass the info on to ex-Navy SEALS.

The rest is bad experiences for the bad guys.

Good idea. Don't forget, there is still a $100,000 bounty out for Epic-M #006.

Ill keep my eyes out in sierra vista and tucson theres no one advertising epic in this area if they're dumb enough to steal it they're dumb enough to try and use it or sell it in an area that doesn't have many or possibly any

also a lot of people in the area know I've been looking for a close place to rent and epic/scarlet if its in cochise or pima county ill probably hear about it
