So I got a bunch of lenses together and did a quick test on Helium vs Chromatic Aberration - wow. I'm going to try and do a bigger test later at a rental house with more lenses. Regardless, this shows you need to be careful with CA and older/less quality glass!

saw this on Facebook.. oh my gosh.. even though I really like the Otus.. those Xeens continuously impress me when I am not expecting them to. wow.. The sigma art series is seriously the best bang for the buck. Great CA lens test!!!!

Also, just saw this on the book of face.

Same reply here:

Top performers in this class wide open are Zeiss Otus, Tokina Cinema Vista, and Sigma in that order. Goes notably downhill from there. Stopped down 2-3 stops should clean up much of this, but you would of course need to light for that.

I'm surprised just how close it is, .. but Otus is a clear winner.

However, .. Evan just saved me a bunch of time and money with this test.
I'm curious to see how the Xenons hold up in this test.

I have a set of Xeens that I've been fairly impressed with as long as they aren't shot at 1.5, .. at 2 and above they are very nice
in many cases.

Ha no worries! I'm going to try to do a larger test at a rental house.
