Seeing that 6.5K is about the same as "old school" Super 35 and Dragon 5KHD (thanks Phil). After doing some frame rate testing with the Epic-W, I see that at 6.5K, 2:1 The Epic-W will do 39.54 FPS. It would be awesome to get that last little bit and squeeze out 39.96 (40 FPS). Possible?

39.96 divided by 23.976 = 1.666666666666667
40 divided by 24 = 1.666666666666667

:)

Math is clearly not my strong suit, Phil :) .......Is it possible to be able to shoot 39.96 (23.98 time base) at 6.5K on the Epic-W in the future?

6:5 is indeed a 6K format, but the limiting factor for 6.5K will be the height of the frame. 6K is notably faster.

So you're saying it mathematical no go? I was naïvely hoping that with a firmware upgrade that extra half a frame could get squeezed in. Just to have that 6.5 K at 40 frames would be wonderful.
