  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC - updated pricing on modules/accessories

Epic-S

Epic-S

I am waiting to buy Epic-S, but am little confused with the price at this time. Also could not find out appropriate reference on the forum to my question below.

Is the tentative price indication of $12-14K by Jim only for the Epic-S brain or is this for the package with bare minimum modules?

I am looking at an estimate for a package with bare minimum assessories/modules that is required along with brain to be able to shoot.

If it's coming as a package will it have these modules.
  1. Epic-S brain
  2. Side Handle Grip
  3. SSD/CF module
  4. SSD Card
  5. Battery
  6. LCD/EVF + cable

The 12k is for the brain only. A working package is around 20-25k depends on how bare you can go. Absolute minimum could be even less.

As are we all - there has not been anything other than a rough indication of the price for the brain itself, not to mention any recent indication of module prices.

That quote was in regard to the brain only.

Right now, I don't feel like it's worth trying to put together such an anticipated price if a couple of thousand dollars makes a difference. I don't think it has every been said what "package" RED would be delivering for EPIC-S, if there was to be such a package. Furthermore, pretty much all of the pricing information we have for modules is rather old and may have changed in the mean time - for better or for worse.

I'd say ~$25K would be a good middle of the road working kit ballpark. Anything more accurate and I'd feel like I was misrepresenting it to you.

May as well recap what has been posted on pricing so far.

$ 1,600 - 5" LCD- touchscreen
$ 2,500 - 7" Red Pro LCD
$ ??? - 9" LCD- touchscreen

$ 1,750 - RedMote Pro

$ 1,500 - Side 1.8" SSD Module
$ 500 - Side CF Module
$ 950 - Side Handle
$ 350 - Bottom Handle

$ 300 - Epic Rear Module Adapter
$ 300 - Scarlet Rear Module Adapter
$ 500 - Epic/Scarlet Base Plate
$ ??? - NATO Base Plate

$ 200 - Top Mount

$ 2,950 - Pro I/O Module
$ 1,750 - Base I/O Module
$ ??? - Pro Battery Module
$ ??? - Battery Module
$ 1,500 - Rear 1.8" SSD Module
$ 950 - Rear CF Module (Dual)

Addition to Curren's post, the 2.8" lcd has been discontinued according to Jarred, ostensibly due to it being too small for a normal person to use.

Thanks for the response guys. My assumption is true, even I was expecting the package (minimum) to cost around 25K.
