  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Yes, full trade in value here, I took so good a care with my camera, I used it but protected it well. Awaiting shipment of my EPICX now. padded camera case at all times unless it was mounted on my tripod.
 
2973 hit RED on Monday. I now have paid for and should receive EPIC in 7-10 days. Hope it is earlier. Eval showed a sound board and low pass filter plus labor needed. $1570.00 Ouch!

But, it is coming soon!
 
Might be a silly question - but does the returned Red One have to be the latest released firmware? I'm a version or two back.
 
Nope. Mine didn't and passed inspection with only a $30 wire being replaced and $100 labor to replace it.
 
Sent Red MX in. It was received and evaluated by Red HQ. Expecting to take delivery of the Epic within 7-10 business days.

i just got my trade in email, why am I being charged $1050.00 for an audio board that was free anyway? being a vfx camera, I didn't have a need for the audio upgrade and couldn't afford the time to send it back to California since it was being used, I think its unfair that I am being charged so much for something that everyone else got for free.
 
I think the rationale for that decision lies in the fact that the audio board upgrade was a limited-time offer with a dead date at the end, allowing them to abandon the upgrade line as soon as the dead date was passed.

yes but isnt the audio board on the original Red One not up to red specs hence the need to replace it?
what difference does it really make if they did it then or now?

Miguel, You and I just need to think about it differently. We both got a trade in value on our RED One of 16,500.00 instead of 17,500.00

That is how I am going to sleep tonight after the 1025.00 audio board that I never used.

Just feels better when you think of it that way..............

Hi Guys. Reporting in...

2853 arrived at RED on Monday. It passed evaluation today with only $130 in repairs needed. Payment was made for the balance and in about 3-5 business days of processing, my RED Epic should be shipping out my way...

Red One #569 delivered 3/14/08
Trade in email received 1/17/12
Delivered to Red 1/19/12
Evaluation results received 1/27/12
Epic Paid in full 2/1/12
Epic #1956 received 2/9/12
Touchscreen received 2/15/12
 
no it doesnt make me feel ANY better. because everyone with a red one got that same opportunity to trade in their red.
paying $1000 for something people got for free makes me feel bad either way u cut it.

1036 Arrived this morning. Still missing a couple backordered bits and pieces, but we are shooting.
 
Sent #2430 in last week. EPIC received today! And I must say I think it's lunacy for anyone to feel bad and complain about Red subtracting repair costs for the trade-in value on their Red One! This trade in is unheard of and AMAZING!! Seriously, guys - be grateful, you'll sleep better.
