  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC stage 3...list

Red One # 3178 was shipped to RED today and will arrive Wed., Feb. 15th for its evaluation. Could you please correct the date I got my Red? It was 9-26-2008. A sincere "Thank you" for keeping the spreadsheet updated. I know setting it up and keeping updated must be very time consuming. It has been a real help for a lot of people.

STAGE 3 UPDATE on RED #1278
Received Epic X today from trade in #1278!! Gonna wait to send in 1279 till we get the backorder parts for the new Epic. Was a little surprised how much repair work my 1278 camera needed when I sent it into Red and got a $2000 bill. I had just shot a Sea World spot with it the day before and worked flawlessly....... Weird.

You are correct, ordered Feb 2008, received Dec 2008. Glad I asked though, gotta stay up on these things, sometimes waiting makes you sloppy.

There are a lot of people that when their number came up, they took some time to pay the camera and take delivery of it.

Otherwise how could you get the #3033 on Feb 2008?. My number was #2894 and I had my camera paid in full by June'08 so by the time my number was up I got delivery right away without any delay in September 2008.

It doesn't make sense to me either that you could have got your camera delivered in February 2008, having a number in the 3 thousands. I ordered my camera I believe in January 2008, and I there is no way a 3000 Red was delivered in Feb 2008, as I remember they were shipping in January 2008 I believe the 500 number or much less.

Ugh! Sorry to hear about your fees... That is the number one concern with my trade-in. When the various stages were announced, I really was under the understanding that all Stage 3 trade-ins were going to get a full credit of $17,500. Had I known that I could get slapped with a couple thousand bucks in refurbishing fees, I would have considered Stage 2 a little more. My Red One also is working flawlessly up until the day I sent it back to RED for evaluation - but I am really fearing the bill that I might get slapped with considering everyone else that got hit with fees never had a single problem with their camera either. On the plus side, this is still the best deal a camera company has ever offered and even with any incurred refurb fees - we are still completely winning and lucky to have such an opportunity. What a world it would be if Sony, Canon, Arri, Panasonic, JVC, etc. all offered 75% or higher trade-in value on their old camera models!
 
RED ONE #3002 FEDEX'd

RED ONE #3002 FEDEX'd

RED One #3002 on it's way back home to Calif. today via FEDEX, should arrive Monday morning before 10:30 am for evaluation. Went back in it's original box and packing materials.

Standing by and will post upon arrival at RED Hqtrs.

Excited and sad to see it go back at the same time.
 
#1120 got the evaluation report today. All small costs here and there was a little higher then what I was prepared for. But Im happy that this is finally happening after soo period of waiting.

What kinds of problems showed up? What was the total repair bill?
 
Yeah. Kind of interested in that too. Especially considering that the 'evaluation' and
associated cost was an add-on
that was never mentioned earlier in the 'stages' specifications.

The only thing ever mentioned was that the camera had to be in working condition.

True. I feel the epic with the production setup I image will be a relevant camera system for the next five years. Let's see what me and my team can get done in that time and go from there.

The back order thing.... yeah, I feel ya. Still, I'm glad to be in this stage 3 group with you all. The camera's will come, let's go get em!
