  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC stage 3...list

My Epic stage 3 has arrived but can't play. Words cannot describe this frustration!

So you got your body but no EVF, touchscreen or side handle? And you sent your red one in? How are you keeping your clients happy?

Nothing Pete, notta... Ever since Stage 3 was supposed to take place I've unloaded most of my Red One accessories trying to recooperate any money I can. Over 2 months and no working camera and now a Epic sitting here useless.

FWIW I just got my Touch Screen email today saying it will be allocated/shipped in the next 3-5 business days. I don't know what this means for people who are behind me in the stage-3 line, but given that I haven't had my X for very long at all it certainly isn't bad news.

Don't know why some people receive notification before other. I've seen guys who receive their red epic who were 2200# and this guys just receive his notifications #1500... What the heck!

you are assuming that everyone ordered, then paid for and took delivery of their Red One promptly. I am sure that when an order and/or deposit was initially accepted the 'next' serial number would have been allocated. Then for whatever reason those orders did not actually happen. When that was certain those serial numbers would have been reallocated. So someone could end up with a much earlier serial number than others delivered at the a similar time. I'm sure delivery date is the deciding factor for everyone and we will be dealt with fairly and in turn - that's the Red way.... no need to get stressed out :-)

Sorry, if others with earlier numbers are not getting theirs quite as quick, My eval went smooth, my rep was on top of things and my camera was already paid for, several months ago actually, plus there was zero delay on my original R1, so the transaction went really fast in my case, I'm sure i chopped out a few days in there. I hate waiting so I do what I can to expedite things. Here's hoping the touch screens are coming soon.

I just got my FedEx email at 3am this morning. Epic is on the way. In my allocation email that I got last week, I was told the LCD, Side Handle and Remote are on backorder. So I will have to wait for one of them to get here before I boot my new baby up. From Jarred's recent post in the BackOrder Status thread, it shouldn't be too long before one or all arrive soon. Not sure, but just rechecked my FedEx email and it says package is 16 lbs. I may have gotten lucky and have an LCD tucked in there somewhere. Fingers crossed. My Red One was #855.

I feel your pain Ivan. I knew it was going to be craziness after Scarlet was released so I ordered the SideHandle on Nov 2nd! Even then it didnt' arrived until mid Jan...

Man, I was so stupid. I knew I wanted to get the side handle, but was lazy, and then I ordered it on Nov, 9th!! Still waiting. :-/ As you say, I guess 2 million people order them nov 3rd for their Scarlet! I didn;t realize about that.

I received my Epic X on Monday. Looks like an lcd is on the way. I got n email acknowledgement.

Got back a totally unsuspected $550 evaluation results.

Replacement of low pass filter $120 + cable $30 + plus 4 hours service job $400... ouch. Those filters do take some time to replace...

Anyway, happy to know that my Epic is closer than ever. And hope for the rest of prospective owners that things seems to start moving faster. My Red got at their facility on Monday morning and I have already got the quote.

Now send me the Epic! :-)

Got my evaluation results today as well, and unfortunately mine was even worse than that. Our camera wasn't even used all that often, only a few hours every month, but we did rent it out a handful of times each year and I think renters are almost always harsh on gear.

In the end, its still an extremely fair price to pay for the upgrade, so no complaints from me.
