  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC stage 3...list

#3087 will hopefully become an Epic X on stage 3.
Does anyone know how to officially sign up and pay before the end of the year so that you can maintain the original pricing?
Tks.

My Guess.

1. They won't ask for commitments or deposits until right at the very end of stage 2.

Or

2. They won't ever ask for pre orders, but instead move ahead with stage 3 by simply emailing qualified camera owners, in order and informing them that they are eligable to upgrade. Then the money and camera get sent in and the Epic gets delivered.

Could you tell me please:
1. What must be done to get in Stage 3? Is it need to make some reservation to RED or something like that (as Stage 2) or every buyer of RED ONE before October 29, 2009 automatically making participant of Stage 3 and automatically will get e-mail from RED about Stage 3?
2. And What must be send to RED only RED ONE body or something else?

Thank you

Hi Alexey,

You don't need to do anything yet, they haven't announced Stage 3 reservations and won't until Stage 2 is almost complete.

You will definitely see a lot of information here on reduser, but you will also probably get an email from Red.

My guess is they will start Stage 3 in about a month.

My understanding is that you return the body only.

Thank you.
I think about 300 people (for one month) got their Epic-X from Stage 2 I think are about 800 people on Stage 2 so the next 500 Epic-X will be shipped in October and November so in December may be Stage 3 is start I think.

And How do you think about package?
Is it reade to shoot package (plus lense) or is it need to additionally buy DSMC Sude Module?
for Redvolte?

No one knows but production is ramping up quickly so you can't use last month as a guide for the future. At any moment the may start making 400 a week or some crazy number, and get through the list very quickly.

Regarding the package, it is technically ready to shoot, but if the battery module is not released and available then you would only be able to power the Epic with Red Bricks on a belt pack/cradle/plate (using a special cable) A/C power pack (purchased separately) or the side handle (purchased separately.)

You will also need to purchase SSD media.

So it's a question of timing whether you will need anything else at first.
