I agree with both your posts, and at this point I think we're all just wondering how this trade in will work (I'm hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst :smiley. Originally I assumed (since it was listed as $17,500, not "up-to" $17,500) that it was a simple credit given for being an early adopter – that almost any working camera would be eligible for the trade-in and that RED had no intention of reusing or reselling the cameras or parts. Now we're all sort of in the dark as to the trade-in value of our cameras.

I'm pretty sure that my camera will be fine, I think its in great shape, but for example, I've never used the BNC/SDI ports so I have no idea if they function properly or not. I would consider the camera to be working 100%, but put under a diagnostic microscope who knows for sure.

Still, even if it is worth "only" $15,000 trade-in that's still an amazing deal, its just not the same value I originally planned on when I chose to wait for Stage 3.

I agree with you too, Brad.

I think that main problem is backorder of accessories especialy after Scarlet shipping has begun.
Testing RED ONE cameras cannot be big problem.
We must be patient and pray for RED's suppliers too
