Though I should share this.

We just made this down converter that takes a arri 3 pin xlr 24v feed and turn it to 4 pin 12.5v xlr the black box is perfect "epic backpack size". So the next thing is to figure out how to attach it to the back of the camera. I was thinking of buying the 20USD plastic "end module" and screw it onto that. Then it would click on right of the back of the camera. That way we can feed the box / camera with standard arri power when being on cranes, dollies and remote heads etc than only have 3 pin 24v power.

We also cut of the cable to our DSMC AC power supply and put 4 pin xlr connectors on the cut, then we made a 15 meter long extention cable. This way we can have the camera on 15m cable. And when used with Arri power we just just the short end of the DSMC cable to the black box and feed that with power.

The above all work fine. So if red does not make a 24V power module I might improve this one, add the redmote quick lock etc. So let me know if you are in need of such a thing.

Question can anyone confirm how well the 20USD end module clicks on the back. If you think it's durable enough to hang this lightweight stepdown converter on it or if it will fall off.

The plastic end cap, if that is what you mean, is held in with friction as it 'plugs into' the data connector on the back. It should be redesigned to use the A mount.
I would not recommend using that end cap at all right now, I had an issue with it.

ps: What is the standard 4 pin 12 volt XLR pinout, if there is a standard at all ?

Thanks Les, good to know. Then I need to come up with some other option. So... is there any kind of low weight / cost plate or such that locks on like the red mote, 3rd party or such?

i found this version a while back would like to give credit but I can't remember who made it. ( i thought Duclos or ASL but dont see it on their sites.) . made out of ABS. The plate slides onto Module mount, with the screws quite secure. Maybe someone else has seen this plate. Or spend 200$ and mount it on WC quick plate v2 for a very fast solution.

Sorry if I just add noise, but I was wondering why do you want to attach it to the back?
maybe it's easier to attach it to a swat rail, a rod (like wooden does it with the A box) or bolt it to any of the cage parts or cheese plates?

just a thought. But maybe I'm underestimating the size of the thingy.
