  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC / SCARLET Firmware 3.3

Mmm unfortunately the BETA firmware for Scarlet... is Beta :)
Frame guides don't show (any of them), everything's clean, and the big improvement, the audio playback (together with the mix channels R_L) doesn't work properly. I recorded a few seconds and something strange with a repeated audio happened.
Waiting for the final firmware, rolling back to the previous firmware, thank U guys for your hard work...

Carmine, please save a log file from your SCARLET-X and email it to me at nick-dot-grow-at-red-dot-com.

last week i asked about audio in playback and now its here. great work red!

awesome! Thank you Jarred!

Not sure if this has been covered, but will we see slower frame rates (1/sec) for time-lapse use in the future?

The video is a great idea... although non-native English speakers (like me) would appreciate Sean speaking a bit slower... please, next time... jaja...

Nice job on the firmware and video Red team/guys/gals/peeps.

Still doing some tests, but one thing that is extremely noticeable on Scarlet is the GUI/Touch Screen responsiveness is vastly improved. Nicely done.

awesome, thanks for striving to keep making this camera better. I was happy with the camera I bought. Amazing that you guys keep improving it. It show your one of us.

I hate to ask as I would prefer to show appreciation, but any updates on power management?

And not to quote myself, but it appears Epic is also a bit more "peppy" now too. Really nice.

ok Nick. Thanx a lot. it seems I'm the one and only to have these issues... :)

Hey guys,
Need an opinion....leaving on a weeklong shoot Sunday with a hugh client, I'm on 3.2.16 (all prepped and ready) should I upgrade to 3.2.19 or just stay where I am? I guess what I'm asking is is 3.2.19 going to fix any issues I may have, although 3.2.16 has worked flawlessly.

Based on that, I'd stay on 3.2.16.

Is there any way to get 4k out of the HD-SDI (is it 3G-SDI or regular HD-SDI? I think 3G can dump 4k, right?)

And please tell me that is Nate in the BG in the Spandex.... We lent him one of the Spiderman suits from 2nd unit and he never gave it back.....

We want to start doing these walk-throughs for the more "milestone" firmware and software updates. This on top of more product demos, best practice videos, etc. We are glad that they are helpful to you guys...

Yes, please continue these videos as well as the Red workflow pages. I find all of them very, very helpful!
