  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC/Scarlet Build 3.3.14

Very quick question - if I already installed the Beta version last week, do I need to upgrade to the release version?

It seems the two builds are identical. Just checking.

I think 3.3.14 was a Release Candidate so I am assuming there were no issues and the Release Candidate became the official Release Build.
 
I confirm my Epic crash with this firmware each time I try to use the AF Canon Mount...

I open a technical issue on RED.

I also have a problem with this build.
the touch screen stops responding after a couple of minutes (after every reboot). no image on the playback out of SDI.
that's what we found so far but that's enough to do something about it.
back to 3.3.3 and everything works fine
 
Hi Dennis.

I thought that I was the only one with a problem with this build...

I had FREEZE each time I want to use the AF with the 28-70 2.8 L Canon... Red said that it is the lens because it isn't in the list...

Well, but it works perfectly with the build just before this one...Why not with the new one ? No answer...Just "Change for a lens in the list"...

I've had the touchscreen freeze issue for the last few builds now. It happens when I change the output frequency from defaults (I think 60Hz for HDMI and 24Hz for HDSDI) to something else on the HDMI and HDSDI brain outputs. As long as I don't touch that menu, everything's working great.

Has anybody else seen that issue ?

Please open a support ticket and send in a log file. This should not be happening.
 
Cant seem to play a take back all the time. Hit or miss. Reboot takes care of it sometimes.
 
I had been using the Scarlet and the Beta firmware 3.3.13 (or something like that), and had no problems with smooth Avid MC 6 AMA playback of clips in the editor. Now, after updating the firmware to the release version based closely on the firmware I was using, my MAC based Avid MC6 will not play back the clips smoothly anymore via AMA. To the extent that where editing was perfectly smooth via AMA from the camera on the Beta firmware, it's now nearly impossible because playback has become stuttered, dropping most frames and playing just a few. I have tested by linking via AMA to clips recorded with the prior Beta, and they are smooth as silk. Anyone else?
 
we updated our epic x camera with the latest firmware 3.3.14 and we have a problem of toggling into playback and preview. Whenever we press the playback button on the screen the frame gets frozen and it doesn't goes to playback . Do we have to update the firmware again ???
 
Apologies if this has been covered already, but...

Just upgraded to 3-1.3.14 (seems theres a 3-1 now)
The highest frame rate for 5K and 5KHD is 94.91... shouldn't it be 95.91 to be 96fps?

Help would be appreciated. Thanks.

25fps hdrx? 50fps overcranking?

so sad that you don't serve this feature. my scarlet has not produced ONE shot since i bought it. i'm thinking about selling it and buying a c500. because 24fps are useless for tv in pal land. very, very sad. i thought you care about your customers wishes. i was wrong.

You own an Epic works perfectly well without HDRX, if your Scarlet has not produced 1 shot it's not Scarlet's fault.

shure, it's not ivanka's fault :-)
but i believed in getting 3k 25 fps hdrx anywhen but it does not seem that this will become reality...
and my mails regarding this i have sent to red never have been answered. sad.
 
I´ve had my EPIC-M hang a few times during a log shoot. We were only shooting 1K 350fps for a whole day. Not sure if that has anything to do with it
