  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Have you guys filed a bug report?

...Can't seem to replicate on Epic. Too bad... I was looking forward to seeing 5KFF @ 300FPS. ;)
 
The playback of 4.0.8 is still bit buggy. Especially, if one adjusts the settings, then the likelihood of the display getting "mixed" increases. Once the view becomes a mosaic of several images, then if set to playback and back to the camera mode, the view becomes completely black.

A minor bug is that the setting of metric units does not hold. When power up the camera, camera shows the distance in meters, but switching playback back and forth changes the units to imperials.
 
Yes, this firmware version is unusable ... too buggy.
Please report problems to RED. You'll help to solve (I hope).

Had a terrible week shooting with my Red Epic with a very patient DoP. About 5 times each day I had to apologize to him because either the touch screen stopped responding to touch or else the temperature sensor would "disappear" and when that happened the fans would no longer turn off during a shoot.

I would usually have to re-power 2 or 3 times to fix these bugs.

This is not normal. Please file a support ticket and be prepared to send in a log file so we can see what is going on.
 
My REDMOTE is not working correctly since upgrading to 4.09. I had no such problem with 4.08. Anyone else? I get intermittent connects/disconnects, works attached to the back of the Epic, but mostly will not work when wireless.
 
Release version coming anytime soon..?
 
My monitor has been blacking out since the upgrade - no asa, no frame rate, no kelvin. Picture okay. Seems that house power (AC) is sometimes the culprit.
A manual reboot helps, but still a pain.
 
Also really hoping to have another Release verion soon... Been almost 4 months, and I'd love to enjoy some of the new/needed features in build 4.
