  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC... ready.

Been working like that between two M and two MX productions this week, and the insane thing is that I've had help for RED in this situation.

Crazy. Good. Crazy, I know. Still very good.

Here in India it is Deewali. (According to Ramayana , the great hindu EPIC,,,here we go again',,, Deewali is a Festival of lights and crackers which is celebrated when RAMA came back to his home Ayodhya after winning the battle againt evils that is RAVANA)
This news is cracker of a news on this auspicious day and I from India wish THE RED TEAM a very succesful years ahead.

This is NUTS! I was expecting Epic around Cherry Blossom season...

What a great Christmas present for both the Red Team and all their loyal customers :)

Right now... the ones we have do 5K at 120fps (2.40:1) and 96 fps at full frame or 2:1. It does REDCODE 3:1 to 25:1 on the RED SSD... and syncs at 23.98, 24, 47.96 and 48 fps. Timecode works. Audio does not (yet). REDCINE-X has EPIC support (internal build).

It is ready for productions... and there will be announcements pretty soon about some big ones that will be shot on EPIC.

BTW... OffHollywood is scheduled to get the 1st shipping EPIC. I am quite sure they will let you know when they receive it and what their reaction is...

The first Tattoo, or are they NOT getting a Tattoo and will be in the first batch I'm in, the Stage 2s?

And to think, I was at Red Studios on Monday. Wish I could have seen it. I'm driving back home from California tomorrow, and you wouldn't have to twist my arm to go through L.A. Any chance I could take a peek? Pretty please? :drool:

Question, when will you receive a technical Oscar for your cameras? I say it has now become long over due.

Tattoo (+13) will not be for sale. These will go on selected projects while production EPICs are being staged to be built. We need to watch over the Tattoo +13's carefully.

OffHollywood, and everyone else, will get the same Stage 2 production EPICs.

I think we talk too much to get an Oscar... :-) Doesn't matter. If our customers are happy, that's good enough for us.
