I have seen pics of epics that have epic x on top of the camera are they shipping? Question #2 I have seen pics of epics with red screws on the brain and others with all black screws.is ther any significance ? Just curious. thanks

the last Epic M's shipped with black screws (at least mine and from 3 friends)
right now its only M. x should ship end of summer/fall 2011

Most of the pics of the epic I have seen have red scews. Maybe I have red on the brain!! :)

I've seen an EPIC-X in the field. Well, it was *marked* EPIC-X, not saying it was one! So I have no problem believing the OP. Heck give me 5 mins I'll post a pic to prove it!

I've asked a few times about the Red screws. Really hoping it'll be an option, but I doubt it... I can't imagine they'd be TOO hard to find 3rd party though? Maybe Brook needs to start making them :)

Here you go. Apologies for the crappy cellphone pic!

The M is most likely NOT made from machined/specialized parts for those parts that are available for assembly...

This little "X" could be one of them.

On the "M" package description, the parts that are machined are clearly stated.

Just my 2.5c

the cam is gorgeous BTW

So maybe the question is why do some have red screws and not others? Or ?...I am waiting for my m's will they have red or black screws?

Don't get too excited guys... :) EPIC-X program has not begun. Some of the first EPIC prototypes were machined X's for the early hobbit/ spiderman productions and a view friends before we made the M program for customers... this is one of those cameras.

The RED screws are my fault.. I put those in some cameras at the very beginning.. Just because I like they way they looked. I littered the Spiderman cameras with them. Production cameras are black.

Darn it Jarred, there goes a great conspiracy theory right down the tubes...where's your sense of adventure, lol??

I like them too... Would love a bag of them, if you still have some around. ;)

So, your fault Jarred? To make amends, perhaps you could agree to ship all X's with red screws...

they actually turned out to be total shit... made of aluminum. After our poor techs went through extracting a dozen broken threads.. we decided to use grown up bolts :)

Crap, well, that sucks.. Too bad... they were a nice touch.

He he, because I love those Red screws so much as well, as M8 came with them, and then were replaced by the more durable Black ones,
we are now sourcing a manufacturer here in Italy to make us the Ferrari Red allen bolts for our Epic cameras, lets see how it turns out, and once we get them I'l send few to Jarred for approval... ;)

Btw, one of the Epic-x pics showed up on twitter as well couple of weeks ago... ;)

Cool... thanks for your continued pursuit of perfection. :-) Our 2 EPICs had the updated ones.. And I kinda like em in black.
