I thought the same thing... but given the torque of these modules, I think its smart to remove that stress from the expensive BRAIN and put it on a module adapter.
EDIT: BTW the Module adpater is BOLTED to the back of the BRAIN... which makes it stronger than the quick release latches and dovetails of the modules.
Thanks for sharing Tim. I can't believe we get this thing for free!
I'm so getting one of these... I don't see myself mounting it on camera. I see myself using the "stealth" dslr like form factor much more for my type of shooting. HOWEVER, with this quad charger taking only 2 hours to charge 4 batteries, its going to go with me EVERYWHERE.
Thats cool... but dont confuse this Quad MODULE with the QUAD Charger... 2 separate products. Remember too a DUAL BATT Module is in the works too to keep it smaller and still be able to hot swap.
The space under the quad and behind the exposed base of the Epic SCREAMS for a custom shoulder mountWould look very ENG friendly then!
Was there a price announced for the Quad module? I have lost track of what costs what and what comes with our Epic-X StgII kit![]()
There's an app for that:Was just thinking the same thing. Only problem I see is that if you undermounted a ENG-style shoulderpad is that you block all the rear-facing ports on the lower back of the Epic.
Question Tim, What happens when you put one Red Volt in the side handle and 4 on the module? Meaning, which batteries get drained first? Can I leave one Red Volt in the handle all day and use it like a Bebop to power the camera when I change all 4 Red Volts on the module? Or does it drain the battery in the side handle first? I guess you could always just pop a batt in the side handle every time you change batteries. I'd like to change all 4 batts at one time without powering down. Although, if it drains them sequencially I guess its not really difficult to just swap out the dead ones as you go. Thanks Tim, and thanks Red for making such a revolutionary camera system![]()
Oh... This will also make the CLUTCH so much nicer to use, and way better balanced, and more mobile, then using it with uncomfortable and impeding long Rods with the V-Lock batteries, can't wait... Thanks again for posting Tim!!
