  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC OUTFITTING - POST YOUR EPIC RIGS WITH DETAILS PLEASE

Could someone try to make a shopping list for this setup please ?
It seems balanced, light and handy !

Thanks
Handheld - quickly and easily balanced with the dogbones and adjustable grips. All RED.

Hey,

I'm not sure if you did it for a reason, but I don't think you inserted that mic properly. You want to criss cross all 4 bands, this will hold it in place more securely and you won't need that make-shift band you put in the front. If you don't know what I mean, pm me and I'll send you a photo.

Here's the Hybrid Handheld Rig design by myself long times ago,
after many times changed and right now using on my feature film...

Perry, looks like a solid setup. Were do you buy this?

Also, would you rather have this shoulder rig or a steady cam, assuming cost is not a factor.

Bob, do you have one of these or are using something similar?

my girl Lucy, sorry about the dodgy battery plate shot, i had to use the red cradle during the time of this shoot. Got replaced in the meantime by the cinemaoxide battery plate.

mattebox is by redrock.

No tattoos yet on your Epic ? very nice rig Dominik ! Looks well balanced

Here's mine. Mostly all Red accessories, still figuring it out, getting a few more pieces. The battery is mounted onto a dsmc universal mount with the ET backplate on the red battery plate.

How did you attach both the Touch LCD and the Bomb? I don't see a Pro I/O module

This first setup was used with a easy rig, quite nice for POV stuff, just having the camera hanging infront of your face all day with dual "search lights" and no stress on the shoulder.

This I tested when we got the image flip... it would have been perfect if it was not for the fact that we actually need a "flip flop" for the EVF, but I guess that will come.

Even though I like the clutch and some hand held, nothing beats this beast :)

We did some wire shots a while back, love it. Does not take much more than a slacking rope to make really nice long descending camera flights:

Some testing outside the office:
