  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC OUTFITTING - POST YOUR EPIC RIGS WITH DETAILS PLEASE

how does the dsmc shoulder pad fit into the quick release setup as described here... http://www.red.com/store/rail-components/product/shoulder-pad

I want to put rails, a handle and a shoulder pad on the core of the quick release dovetail platform and then put an epic or scarlet on that baby

My understanding is it interfaces with the PINS on this mount:

you can see the pins and the screw-mount points in the photo.

Hey guys, soon to be a new Red owner here ... bit lost with all the configuration options.

Did any of the shoulder mounted rigs move the Touch LCD? I looked pretty closely, but perhaps I missed it.

I'd like to mount the monitor to the arm of a Mantis where it's easier to see. And if possible, making the move quickly back to the top of the camera if I'm shooting on sticks or dolly.

Any thoughts anyone? Thanks for your time!

Here's a recent setup I did. The mattebox was a plastic piece of garbage that the production rented. On the other side of the camera, I have a viewfactor cage and my v-lock batter plate. Wasn't very pleased with the teradek placement, but my hands were tied since I couldn't put the battery plate on the back of the camera.

something I just threw together... Pretty nice for handheld and about 1.5 hour run-time with the Switronix 95wh

VF FMJ top / bottom / sides
WC UVF Mount / Quick Back & Battery Plate
RED Fixed Handle with Rosette to Nato - Rosette adapter

This is a real y well balanced rig and you can rest the left handle on your palm... with fingers on FF

Perry, I've looked all over the internet for a handle that looks as sturdy (and cool looking) as that top handle. Please, who do I have to kill to get one?? Whoever made it, can they consider producing them? I desperately want one.

Is this a Navy SEALs submarine?

OK, my entry:

CinePort (TM)
Arri Master Prime 14mm
Bazooka
2 x 300W titanium movie lights
BCD
Carbon fibre 300 bar 1l tank

Intimidating setup. I think I'd just back away slowly if I saw this one in the wild.

Lotta great high production value films coming out of China, some great exciting energy.

Love this Thread!.

Love this Thread!.

Brilliant!. I've been looking everywhere to find a thread like this!...

Within a day or two I'll bee shipping my RED one to RED Europe, trading it in to Epic stage 2

But the Jungle of options regarding Rigs and what not, -compared to limited info of what to buy and what not to buy, has kept me up many hours at night...

This is a couple of link for the extra equipment I'm going to purchase... I think.... :-S

Maybe this can be helpful to some of you guys, or maybe you can tell me I'm going i a wrong direction buying stuff that isn't any good... :-)
