  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC Meets the Mother Lens; Canon 1200mm/F5.6 (Plus 2X Teleconverter = 2400mm)

Vow........................fantastic..................congratulation for your new experience

The cost of this lens seems insignificant compared to a tripod that would keep it steady...

Yes! Thank you Peter for taking time out of your busy day to check this lens out. It's a beautiful chunk of glass.

Also, it would be fitting to give a shout out to Ketch Rossi for helping us find the lens. Thanks buddy!

My pleasure buddy, now enjoy it, and do post some Frame Grabs... ;)

Don't let Ketch see you doing that...
Remember the lecture I received when I had the EPIC on my 600mm :))))

Well, now that you mentioned, both of you are doing something WRONG, not for the EPCI BAD A^%$# Ti Canon Mount, but for the LENS!!

This lenses are not build to support the wait of an EPIC+Accessories, are meant for a 2.5LB camera, so add a long range flash and you go to 3LB, lets say that you are safe at 4LB, but going well over 5LB is a real stretch, and nI WOULD STRONGLY ADVISE, that you keep the weight on it as little as necessary to get your shot.

Leave it for extended periods of time hung on the LENS, and I PROMISED you that you'll see FOCUS slightly getting worst with time, this is caused by the Bending of the Lens back element... ;)

But, hey, don't listen to me, I have no idea what I'm talking about... ;)

Ketch,

I listen loud and clear! You are absolutely right.

I have been telling people for years to treat the mount like it was your ........!

I use Really Right Stuff Rails for big lenses!

Thanks Ketch for helping all of us!

Best,

Kennan

Wow, does the lens have image stabilization? At 2400mm is the frame bouncing around, absorbing even the slightest vibrations? I cant't imagine what the moon must look like on that!!! I once shot the moon on a 500mm mirror lens with a 2x doubler, and I was blown away....but this is ridiculous.

What's the fstop? F8? F11?

WOW. At 2K you are 4800mm!!!!! You could probably zoom in on an Astronaut's lunch!!!

Crazy ...
amazing ...
