  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC M updates?

We want to make sure you have as little time as possible without your camera.

I want this, too. Better to build a program on the front end that works like buttah, than to have to listen to worse complaints on the back end. Make it so, Brent & co.

"pre-production is the gold"

You must understand, in May i have had my Epic M for 1 year. Designing accessories like a top plate to fit the camera should not be an issue. There seems to be this trend on Reduser that if one is not whooping about something then it's deemed unsavory.
My enquiry was a genuine one. I do feel the Epic M has been pushed aside, i should be able to express that without being labelled a "complainer". I have tried calling RED and had no joy, so i came to the forum. I don't see anyone chiming in about it when it's positive comments. Lets keep this an open free forum where people can express themselves without fear.

@Robert, amen. Keep raising your concerns and thoughts. i completely understand where you are coming from! It's been an odd thing to watch over the years as the forum has gotten progressively less open to critical debate or discussion...

@robert
You, like all other M owners, have a basic right to get timely updates and communication. As one of those who paid full retail (no trade up gifts) for what seems now to be production prototype I also would like a clear path forward on the M to X update.

I agree it would be nice to get things done soon, but honestly, we got this camera before a huge group of people who were on board way before us. I honestly think that RED is just getting close to catching up.
Robert I totally agree with you 100%, you should be able to voice your opinion/questions without fear.. I've said plenty of things that haven't been happy comments...... I'm still here.

for the record, Robert, I did not label you a complainer...

I was talking about people who complain on the backside of getting what they ask for - and it happens all the time.

I've seen this movie before. RED busts tail to deliver what RED says the customer wants, only to suffer from a new set of complaints - customers move from "why aren't they doing this faster" to realizing, after the fact, the unintended consequences of haste - as in, "they've had my camera for ten days" - or whatever.

I had two RED ONE cameras upgraded to MX sensors. The first one turned around in 3 days. The other one got sucked in for a few weeks. I support RED in trying to create conditions which support the 3-day turnaround and remove ambiguity from the process.

My opinion only. Not about you, Robert.

Thanks Brent... is it safe? Only the front 2 bolts?
Cheers!

No one has forgotten about M owners here. We are putting finishing touches on the updating program as there are a lot of i's to dot and t's to cross on it. We want to make sure you have as little time as possible without your camera. To ensure that, we have to make sure the process is as dialed in as possible before rollout.

PS, AFAIK, the TACTICAL TOP PLATE still works with M. You just bolt it on at two mounting points instead of the four you would on an X. Plenty of people with Ms mounting as such right now.
