Just curious if there is any plan to have my case which is the older interior design upgraded to the current interior, which is totally more usable..

Thanks!

Get yourself a "padded divider set"' for the pelican/storm im2500.

What's the difference between the older & current interior?

First is new config Pelican case, second is Epic-M case... New one is definitely more functional. Biggest difference is there's more room for volts and a charger.

eg the dragon... hehe...

Yes hehe ... but I think they mean the reduced weight modification, not the Dragon which is probably quite a ways out.

Out of curiosity has anyone got a nice set up for Epic with the padded dividers?

I hate those things. They let everything bounce around and bang into each other (no matter how much padding there is, inertia is inertia). Totally defeats the point of schlepping a big hard case around (and therefore, if padded dividers do meet his needs, he should consider a nice convenient photo backpack [ie Think Tank] instead of a case. it works for some people; Ketch does it).

Get the padded dividers from PortaBrace, they are really well made, I did a quick job recently of taking them out from my PortaBrace 2650DK and putting them in a Peli 1510, obviously they're not quite the same dimensions, but it's workable. I've been using a couple Portabrace cases for My Red One and accessories for over three years now, and they're holding up great, outside and inside.

Cheers,
Damien

I always looked at the cine lens cases and was like "what's with all the foam?!!" I use the same Peilcan that the Epic comes in for my view camera. It's been in service about three years and has logged a crapload of mileage. I mean, I would never check these things as baggage and the foam offers more protection if the case gets dropped, but we try not to drop our cameras.

YMMV

I always liked Oakley design bags and backpacks ,customized backpacks for epic and scarlet would be so cool, what do you think?

All the foam is the reason you can check cases as baggage. Sure it is nice to carry on your precious gear, but it is really not practical for all but the smallest shoots.

I can respect the fact that Red chose the biggest legal carry-on Pelican case, and the laser-cut foam is nice.

Unfortunately any camera case that makes you to remove pieces requiring tools to reinstall is a poorly-designed case. I'm fine with sliding, clicking, even thumb-screwing to build a camera from the case, but getting out the Allen wrenches every time you want to secure the gear, not cool.
