A month ago, I posted here a piece we shot during the World Tour of surfing event in New York.
This is the same concept but during the French stop this time.
We were working at home as they run the championship on our home break of Hossegor.
Our job was to capture action and to deliver content every evening for next day highlights.
Weather was tricky during the whole waiting period and we had to battle with an heavy fog for the final day of the event.
In the end, this is a compilation of some of our best shots.
The Epic is an amazing camera, on the first day of the event, I was shooting action from the shore in 2K@300fps when Quiksilver asked me to jump in the chopper to grab some scenic shots.
In 10 minutes, I've switched my 300mm for my 17-50mm, my tripod for my Element-Technica shoulder rig then we were flying over the coast shooting in 4K....
Hope you will like the result!

The results are well liked. Great work.
I used to shoot surfing on a Canon L1 back in the day, man, things have certainly come a long way.

Thanks Matt.
My first professional camera to shoot surfing was a Sony PD-100, as you said, a long way!

the ramping slow mo looks pretty amazing, did you shoot 300fps 1/600 shutter and then add a ramping motion blur in post? really cool video.

Thanks Tobias, I shot with this set-up then ramp it in FCP7 with Twixtor, it works pretty well.

Amazing stuff.

Now get back out there with an underwater housing!

Thanks Hudson, I will! Hopefully pretty soon, we're working on it but we're trying to get the most compact kit possible to shoot in the water...
