Epic kit for sale.
Just arrived from Red.
Unused - still in box and plastic.
Epic-X with SSD module and Ti PL mount.
5" touchscreen LCD
2 x Redvolt Batteries
Redvolt charger.
Quad Battery module, module adapter.
Epic-X case.
All totally brand new and unused. Value $42,915 (plus taxes...).

Selling for $34,500.

Currently, the camera's in New York.

I've seen people asking 38k for this setup. 34k seems reasonable to me. Wonder why all the people out there are selling them stage 2/3 packages?

I assume this is a stage 3 model Epic? What's the real difference between stage 3-4? or 1-4 for that matter?

There should not be any difference. They are all the same, it's more how red one owners / users lined up to trade in or get discount when moving over to epic.
Basically all the stages was just different ways to get a new camera. All super beneficial for the clients. Never heard of such thing before. We bought a lot of sony gear, panasonic, Discreet, autodesk etc.... All I got from them is the following:

Sony: Hi, you bought a few digibetas a few weeks back..
me: Yes.
Sony: Well they are now discontinued. And we will not service them any more..
Me: ehh?
Sony: So are you interested in buying some HDCam decks?
Me: What price do I get, can I get a discount since I bought so much from you guys.
Sony: Sure.
Me: ok then we buy one.
Sony: Great.

A few weeks later (before we got the deck delivered)
Sony announced that they are now selling the same deck for 2/3 of the price I got to pay with "discount"... thanks.
When I call them up... they basically tell me that, well you got to order yours before the other guys.
Ok, so when will I get it?... you get it when everyone else get it. :)

So that's how sony deals with clients.

Just for comparison. They do not give you a trade in offer, like trade in your old camera and get a new one for much less...
