  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC + Kenneth Willardt

That would have been a fan for the model.

That would be my assumption as well- it was also turned off in the shot.

I'm glad to see the cameras out and running- bring on stage 2!!!

Had a great couple days at Pier59 NY with EPIC, Kenneth Willardt gave the camera a bit of a workout...

Kenneth already threw together a quick Behind the Scenes Video:

Special thanks to Kenneth, Pier59 and B2Pro for all coming together for the test.

Footage from the EPIC from the shoot coming soon...

Yeah I was just talking to Daniel last night and told me you were in NY with your babies, he he.

Glad to see them working and about and about, just remember Jarred, me and my girl re next!! Ha ha!!

Was the behind the scenes shot on the R-1 then Sanjin?

WIll be nice to see some stills fromt he shoot.

Congrats! Looked like fun!

Cannon mount on the EPIC. Very cool guys.

David,

Where did you see Canon mount or lens on Epic there?

It were RED 50-150mm T3 zoom, RED 18-85mm T2.9 Pro zoom and Hawk Anamorphic 46-230mm (5 x 46) zoom lenses.

From the competitor Arri it were Arri light on the floor and Arri FF, also Arri lens motor (probably the rest was also Arri wireless kit) involved there.

AWESOME!

AWESOME!

Thats amazing, can't wait to start shooting on mine.

Really good to know a bunch of our accessories are still going to work with the camera setup, like the bridge plate, battery quick plate, etc...

You guys are awesome, keep up the hard work, its much appreciated by everyone, thank you!!!

I apologize if this question makes no sense, or it's the wrong place to ask it. I have never shot with anamorphic lenses, so what's the point of using them with a green screen with nothing but a model in front of it ?

Yup.. on day 1 Kenneth shot the MX, I showed up on Day 2 with just the Epic Brain in my back pocket and he was able to use all of the support equipment from his R1 Package to get it going :)

Kenneth was a pleasure to meet... this man has definitely embraced the movement aspect of Fashion Photography and is bringing things to a whole new level.

I know you are a BIG boy Jarred, but DAM.. you got some big "back pockets", he he!!

So Happy to see things moving along so nicely!

BTW, I might be going shortly down to Pier59 to meet with Daniel and possibly shoot there the 30second segment of "Chronicles of Perseverance" nice to know you like it there.

.
Have Brain, will travel. Now that is travelling light. This is proof of the modularity concept.

It was exciting and funny to see that the Epic brain was about the same size as the cradle/battery.

If productions are using DSLR's because of the compact size, there is no reason to NOT use an Epic.

It really is incredible.. more incredible than we all thought about over the last couple years. Once you guys actually take the EPIC out and start traveling with it, and shooting with it, the size really will sink in... I can't wait till you all get that opportunity.

I think tat's one of the things we all really crave about the Epic. After dragging the R1 around for a couple of years, travelling light all of a sudden seems like a fantastic idea... -:)

Heard you were in town Jarred, shoot sounds fun man...I have shot several jobs at Pier 59 on RED and I look forward to doing so on EPIC. Thanks for the update man.

And it makes life on Ted that much easier.

No doubt! That is one of the most appealing things to me about the new system- the smaller form factor is going to save my back, as well as my pocket book from being hit by all of those over the limit fees the airlines charge me. Keep up the great work. :)

The most important part of light kit are lightweight lenses.

For example if you have a light camera and too heavy lens that's not so light configuration even on airport checking points...
