  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC images...

First time seeing the epic on video. It looks so light and its mobility in the hands of that op is amazing. Wish I could feel the weight of one in my hands.

As usual the only downside is JPEG compression being misleadingly choppy in the darks. I can see the DR really revolutionizing in the feel of historic films. We've always seen saloons in movies lit by electric lights behind the camera and unrealistically luminous chandeliers. Going back in time, say, to the medieval ages we only have candlelight, fireplaces and torchlight as well. With this and the promise of an HDR mode to come (hopefully capable of staving off fire from clipping) I can see historic films lit in this fashion getting a dark, realistic makeover (while still being able to see the actors ;)

very smart point, it will greatly enhance the emotive participation to the ancient times stories. I look foreward to handling that narrative and aesthetic tool.
