  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

EPIC images...

So with multiple 'Still-Motion' switches (one on grip, another on the Redmote) which one takes precedence?

Whichever you set last (unless you lock one out).

they are temporary toggle switches.. i.e you select the mode you want, and the switch returns to the neutral position.

Any word on the Full resolution Still Maximum FPS?

Don't have a final number yet... obviously it will be different between CF and SSD.

Yes I imagine that the writing speed from media to media would have a play, but just trying to get a fill for the possibilities!

Faster than any other DSLR...

Can you record stills to the 8GB CF cards?

I noticed only 16 and 64 were menioned in the spec sheet.

Is there a way to get an image through the redmote when it is connected to the camera? User selectable.

That's good. It would be good if EPIC could do Best quality REDCODE TimeLapse to a 8GB CF card. I do not think it would be possible to do a RC42 TL on RED ONE, but since you guys are open to suggestion, I thought I would mention it and maybe it can be done on EPIC.

Stills will go much higher than REDCODE 42.

Everything is about data rate and speed/capacity of the recording media. That leaves a lot of options open.

Before we got the SSD working, we recorded 5K 2.37:1 at 120fps to CF! (about REDCODE 10) Images looked pretty darn good! :-)

Excellent stuff! So... can one operate the Epic / Scarlet brains entirely using only the side handle? Or are there any operations for motion picture recording that are exclusive to the REDmote (other than wireless operation, of course)?

Also, is there a way to operate the Epic / Scarlet brain with only a power cable plugged into a wall (no battery) for extended periods?

Thanks for the avalanche of info these past few days!

That's cool. Right now if you get a "media to slow" for motion, it would still be nice to be able to record at higher Redcode when in Timelapse mode (since it only has to record a still at an interval that should not be a problem for data throughport, should it?)

It'd be a handy little feature.

Have fun in Vegas!
