  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Epic has "Error: 0x0000001d"

I had that issue with my camera EPIC DRAGON. It appeared when the camera was cold and i press the record button. I haven't see this for long time now. I also suspect that is Teradek related. I first notice when i bought the Teradek bolt 600.

found somebody cause of the error?

the problem remains unresolved???

I get this error on cold start with my epic w, I thought it might have to do with a not properly seated battery, but I have pretty much nailed it down to "cold" starts, just sent log to Trent

Had the same experience recently on a very new Epic-W. Submitted a ticket and sent a log file. Would love to get more info on this as I've now seen it on both my Dragon and my W.

new build might have fixed this for me, need to do some more tests

Just got the error today on an Epic Dragon X.

(I have submitted a ticket with a log file).

Interestingly it's the same camera that arrived not working out of the box new from Red back about two years ago. But has performed just fine since it was repaired under warranty.

Hopefully it can be resolved quickly.

I would have to say after an all day shoot today, I can confirm I did not have any issues after new firmware, normally I would have had this issue a couple times

I had this error two weeks ago. It happened during the shot. We have also used Teradek Bolt 300, I have heard of issues with the terradecks sending DC down the SDI and frying boards. But I think I had another issue, the fan control was in "Quiet" mode, so I think I've overheated the camera. I've send a log file to RED support, they told me the problem is with hardware and asked me to send the camera to them. As I live in Ukraine, there is no official support, so I took it to people, who can repair the camera in my city and they said, the problem is with main processor board, which i've overheated in quiet mode. They changed the board from a donor not-working camera. But now I have 2600 hours, instead of my 600 hrs on my camera, but it's working fine. It would be too expensive for me to send the camera to an official support. Has anyone had same problems with the main processor board?

Same just happened to me with a Weapon Helium in a middle of a commercial shoot..
Camera is from Vantage Paris, which is the best rental house in Europe, was only on slider and easyrig, supposedly nothing to be worried of but fuck what a bad publicity for Red...
It's unbelievable..

Try a firmware update. It have fixed this for me. I haven't seen this for two years in my camera.

Same happened to me on my Epic-W one week ago. I have send a log file 2 days ago to the support. No answer until now. I can't use the camera since one week. First time in 17 years a camera let me down.
