  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Element Technica's Red Accessories

When do we know of prices and delivery dates.

Just a note for those who plan to buy rods too or are looking for something lighter than typical steel rods. The Element "Ultra Rods" seemed very nice. Significantly lighter than conventional steel and very sturdy. Available now.

I would love to see images (photos or renders) and a price list. Especially for the top plate, break out box, and EVF bracketry.

The EVF Bracket just made sense from a design stand point. It looks and feels rock solid from the admittedly very little I fiddled about with it and from watching it being demoed. I always wondered how they were planning on dangling that EVF on the end of an israeli arm without it just flopping about. I didn't expect the EVF to be so big though. It is the size of a large pop can!

I have one picture of the prototype EVF mount... but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post it [LART NDA] or if I should [the prototype is vastly different from the render I saw].

Stephen sai he would have a web site up soon with images of everything. BTW- regarding prices, his prices are very reasonable.

For example his Arri/Oconnor dovetail is $375 vs $600 from OConnor and they are virtually identical.

It's good to hear Stephen is taking the RED attitude towards pricing. Very good indeed.

I'm pretty sure Stephen told me it would work with the 1030hds. Maybe he misread my email. And it looks like you can take the entire top-plate out if you unscrew a small allen bolt.

I've not seen the new 1030hds, so dont take my word. The plate wont do you any good unless you have the Arri bottom plate on your Red.

Here is a photo of it on the 2060.

The 2060 seems to be the way to go. You feel the same way Greg? Now that you've tried it out.

Ok looks like I was wrong but if there is interest Stephen says they can make a dovetail for the 1030. Is there interest?

Nice...

Nice...

OK,

Spent several hours today with Stephen and Hector at Element Technica gearing up for a 4K RED shoot with Gibby next week.

Their accessories and solutions are VERY COOL!

We are testing the final prototypes next week on a client shoot but I am already sold.
