So i am noticing that on the inf. mark on my nikon lenses the images go completely out of focus. What is the quickest way to calibrate the back focus so i have true infinite focus? i dont have money to throw at a focusing chart at the moment.

The traditional cheapest field focus chart is a $1 bill.
Download the manual from Red website to see how to adjust the turret/lens mount.

and read the BlackAndBlue.com guide to backfocus testing and setting

You can download and print a 600dpi focus chart that will help you in a no budget pinch.

Measure out 6feet from the focus plane and see if the lenses line up at six feet. Use the widest lens you have. Follow the sensor back focus adjustment in the dsmc guide that you can download from red.com

Before starting to adjust the backfocus of the camera make sure you know if the lens needs collimation. The easy half ass way to do that is to test the camera / mount with a few different lenses if the "error" is about the same on all the lenses then you could make the assumption that the backfocus of the lens/camera is of... If the different lenses gives different result then it´s probably the lenses that needs to be corrected and not the camera.

Dont really need a chart to adjust backfocus. Anything that you clearly see sharpness on works quite fine, like a newspaper page or what ever. We got the "Red Focus" it´s real simple to use for pl glass and I had no problem to calibrate for the pl mount and then swap to Canon or nikon.

Awesome! thanks for all your help guys :)
