  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Early Adopters...

Honestly, RED can hand out a dozen free dragon-equipped EPICs to the 'early' adopters. Heck, make it two dozen. Who cares. Whatever. I have skin in the game. It may not be a lot by RED's standard, it may not have been early enough, but from my perspective, it was both as early as I personally could (and as soon as RED would LET me - think stage 4), and it was as much as I personally could.

NAB is here. Its time to hear what RED has to improve the post situation that'll benefit **ALL** RED users. Focus, people.

Ahhh, so the dawn of NAB 2013 has arrived - and for the third year in a row, a client has me in Washington DC. That, after attending 17 of the prior 20 or so NAB's...

At least I was there a few years back to experience PJ's first run at using the RED Ones - earlier, the milk girls had teased me and the promises being made by this upstart company were more than intriguing.

That was April, 2007. I had owned plenty of cameras over the years - and this time, I just had to pull the trigger and place that deposit - there was no option in my brain to do otherwise. Didn't make a difference that a commitment on a delivery date was nebulous at best. The RED booth was where I spent most of the following days - learning as much as I could about a camera that was still only a prototype...
My reservation was for #1689 - and though I defer to using my EPIC as a first choice, that original M sensor still delivers outstanding images today. Just used it again as part of the project I'm working now.

At the time I committed to investing in RDC, I had no idea of the ride ahead. Worth it? Absolutely.

Wish I were in Vegas with all of you to hear the latest news - but clients are important too.

Best to all!

Yeah, the ones I feel sympathetic with are the ones who either couldn't afford to make the plunge but wanted to, or were just too young at the time to realize what lay before them. But I have no sympathies for anyone who didn't have the courage to pull the trigger when offered the opportunity.

That said, I have the utmost respect for those who didn't adopt early and own up to their mistake or misfortune.

DRAGON!!!!

I adopted RED as soon as I knew about it's existence. One look at the already existent www.red.com and at the little teaser from "Crossing the Line" and I was sold out. Didn't have the money, but when I bought my beloved RED ONE I still had to wait more than 6 months, so I managed to get it. Never regretted. Always enjoyed!

Now these are really hard times for the industry here in Spain, but every time I turn my RED ONE or my EPIC-X on, I feel like a kid.

Not an early adopter per se, but I feel as one! :)

So I thank those who where in the right moment, in the right time and in the right mood! That enabled me to enjoy every minute my cameras are turned on!
