Just noticed the addition of this lens to their lineup and it sounds very tempting... :)

Anybody knows the availability of this lens?
I have a feeling they will sell a lot of these babies.
I tried contacting Matt via their website a while ago but I haven't heard back.

Any info from the Duclos team would be much appreciated.

Cheers,

Milan

I just ordered one of these last week. Very excited to be able to do documentary work with a R1 and a (relatively) light PL zoom lens in this focal range.
Will post some samples when it ships.
Duclos was a pleasure to deal with so far. :cheers2:

Milan, I'm looking forward to photos/video when you get your lens. Always interested in new stuff!

The 80-200mm Nikon is a sweet lens. One of my favorite in my kit. Mine isn't cine-moded by Matt but I wish it was. Still even without the mod its a great lens. I only wish the focal throw was a little longer.

I believe the Duclos Nikon 80-200 is simply a mount conversion, i.e. don't expect it to be like their 11-16mm.

I own one made by Arrimedia in London. Duclos said he didn't construct it. It is a gorgeous total rehoused rebuild. Looks like a Cooke w/ yellow markings, etc. Pin sharp, great for handheld action, true T2.8. I've had it for 3 years now and use it often. I hope that the Duclos version is as good and maybe less expensive.
Ganzo limited

I have the standard 80-200 AF-S ED-IF lens and while it's a great lens that I use on my R1, I can't imagine it with gears. It breathes a lot. Wonder if Matt has done some tinkering to address this? Love the idea I must say.

Wich still lens is this conversion of? I can see there are many 80-200 Nikon lenses.

It covers very useful focal range. Metal or plastic housing? Focus scale angle range? etc...

Well, it's de-clicked and FIZ geared same as the 11-16. But yeah, it's not re-housed.

BTW, we shot a commercial this weekend with a 11-16 mounted on the Ultimate Arm.... pretty unreal performance for such a cheap lens.
It flared not so pretty but it was quite stellar otherwise.

Nice pics, Milan! Thanks for the info. Would you mind posting about your 80-200 when you receive it?

Got mine. Seems perfect!

Will be posting my thoughts over the coming weeks, good or bad.

That looks badass. Only wish I had a PL mount for my 5D2 because I use my 80-200mm Nikon quite a bit for timelapse at night.
