  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

DSMC2 Video transmitter MODULE

hmmm...one step forward, two back. This would be a deal breaker for most.
I don't know many people that use HDMI...but losing one of the monitor paths on camera is not a good idea. We must be able to use an EVF and LCD at the same time.

Greg - I know :)

Spec isn't 100% locked on this. But here is a current design ready for production which is based on the HDMI path. It is much less complex to do it that way.

But I'm pushing hard for a version that takes the SDI from the brain - which would solve the EVF issue and TC/run/stop meta data as well - but that will take a little longer and that does cost a little more than current design.

Maybe there should be two versions - less expensive HDMI based version - which is done now and get to market pretty quickly after final RED certification - and then a more expensive no-compromise SDI based version??

Let's see how it shakes out. But yeah - all posts and opinions here do get read by the Teradek brass and the engineering team. So ... don't be shy. Tell us what you want and what matters :)

I would take two of the SDI version for sure.

+1 for SDI. HDMI only is a deal breaker for me (and for a lot of people).

A TX on/off switch would be a very desirable option for power saving.
