The DSMC2™ V-Lock Battery Module Pro is a low profile cable-free module that enables you to power your DSMC2 BRAIN® and camera accessories using RED BRICK®, REDVOLT-V™, or other standard V-Lock batteries. The V-Lock mount and protected release button ensure ongoing power even during mobile shoots.

This DSMC2 battery module offers a P-Tap connector on top and an auxiliary port on the side for powering peripherals and accessories. Together the P-Tap and auxiliary connectors support a maximum combined current of 3.8 Amps.

This module also offers a DC IN power port that can be used to power the camera system when the module is attached to the BRAIN. When DC IN power is supplied to the module, and the camera is turned off, this module can also trickle charge the attached V-Lock battery.

Very nice!

For others who have the same question as me until I read the operation guide:

"The DSMC2 V-Lock Battery Module Pro can charge a fully discharged RED BRICK in approximately 10.4 hours and a REDVOLT-V in approximately three (3) hours."

Any chance that there will be a Gold mount version??? I would really. really. love that.

I saw it at Cinegear. How much time will it take? Who knows. More than a little, less than a lot.

So ready for the AB mount version of this! Been dreaming about it since Cinegear.

Has anyone received theirs yet? Curious to know if this mounts the battery low like the wooden camera backs.

based on where the mounting screws are i'd say no but how high it sticks up over the brain depends on the battery.

No, it does not lower the V-Lock mounting point in the way that you're thinking / like how the Wooden Camera attachment does.

However, there are several v-lock batteries that will fit flush on this module.. like RED's new Red Volts V-lock or Blueshape Minis

can this thing be mounted directly to the dsmc2 i/o module. because i bought the i/o module without the vlock and looking now for the best solution to add an vmount back.
so maybr this or the wooden camera one, right?
