  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

DSMC Release v6.2.60 and DSMC v6.3.17

This is my last firmware update for the Epic-MX, I don't think there is anything else to fix or add. No one even speaks about an issue with them nor any firmware updates. Hmmmm
 
Trying to install this update and my side handle (which I assume would upgrade with the peripherals) is completely dead. It was working just minutes before I tried to update.
I have tried the update without the side handle attached and also with it attached. I have also cycled the camera on and off probably 7 times or more. No power/communication to the side handle.
I am stuck without use of my cam as I don't have a touch screen -can't navigate and select the user agreement. Can't use my REDmote as I can't access the cam for pairing.
Any thoughts on getting a response from my side handle?

I'm sorry my friend, had this happen to me once before as well. I had to send it over to HQ to be re-flashed with the proper firmware. :( Tried everything I could then as well.
 
Just wanted to mention that Mic input 1 (while looking at the lens on your left) maps to channel 2 on DSMC version of this build.

Update to side handle above: I used step progression from the earliest firmware I could downgrade to. Side handle appeared right away and continued to stay connected through all levels of upgrade including this latest. Back in action and appreciative of the new firmware!

I was just going to post the same as David: I found that the Mic Input 1 goes to Channel 2 and that Mic input 2 now goes to Channel 1. Quite weird behavior that got us and the sound guy some minutes to figure out.

i noticed this as well, also motion mount will only increment in 1 stop intervals
 
That explains why I'm barely getting a signal out of my mic. I've also been having issues with getting the softkeys to appear after upgrading to 6.3.27. With focus confirm mode engaged, it just keeps putting the focus confirm point where the softkey should be when I press there. After mashing the screen several times, the softkey sometimes appears, but it's a pain when you're trying to queue up pre-record while there's action afoot.
