  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

DSMC Quickplate Module!

Sounds interesting but a grand is a wee bit too rich for my blood.

Yes, please! I was really expecting something like this to be offered a long time ago. Guess I should have known all we had to do was ask. RED loves to give their customer what they want.

I'd get one for every cam I got. The more cable free, the better. :-)

And its not just a case of loosing a cable (although thumbs up for that) - its about having a V-mount solution that works with the pro i/o and other modules.

You don't need a module adapter for each module. Just one on the back of the brain, and then you can go to town:

thats a real beast there:) But i was under the impression you need to have one with the i/o, you need to have one with a redvolt module...so to me it seems as though we're going to have one for every module...so two for everything we add...no?

Yes -- and yes D tap does suck but alas, we're stuck -- and when you need it you need it -- USB be nice too. Hooray. Sometimes it's the simple things that make the complex things better. Combine with the EVF port module and I think $1200 would be a price many would be happy with. And this would help maintain Epic's no competition small is beautiful form factor.

+1

--> 1000 $ if it is including Dtap (hell even 2 , 3 or 4 ports would be heaven) and USB would be a dream

--> and also agree that a combo of +1 module and this baby with DTAP connectors would be already perfect for a lot cinestyle configs!!!

No. You just put one adapter on the back of the brain. After that everything attaches directly.

I would definitely be interested in this module!

What about interchangeable plates for different battery types (AB and v-mount/idx)... Or is that stupid? Just thinking how hot the dionics are... they match perfectly with DSMC size.

:iagree: I would much rather use AB batteries since that is what is more common in my market.

I am actually kind of surprised that this wasn't one of the first modules created. I would think it would have been much better to use existing batteries rather than create new ones, at least to start. With Jarred giving in to the requests so easily I wonder if this module wasn't already on the drawing board ;)

I would buy four. I like the idea of DTAP because we use it regularly, and a USB tap makes sense .. makes up for the loss of RedMote charging capability directly from the connector pins. So this can be more than just a v-lock or AB battery module .. it can be a more complete power i/o solution.

+1 here.
If theres is DTAP already, great.
If there would be USB (just for the power, no 'through-brain'), then it would be even better.

EDIT: And please make it usable with the power in on the bottom in parallel. This way it could be run with power supply attached or hot swap with other power or whatnot. Would open up a gazillion of possibilities.
