I'm of the opinion that Red can start offering $1200 refunds on all the Red Back Packs sold if they DON'T offer a solution for how to use it with the Pro I/O module. I fully bought into the modular thing idea, but not if $1200 components are rendered obsolete after only 3-4 months use.

Maybe that is why RED hasn't made this module there are so many questions about power of Epic/Scarlet and most of people have to buy V-mount plate from another producer (Switronix, Viewfactor etc). Because now BACKPACK QUICKPLATE for 650 + DSMC BACKPACK for 1200 = 1850 it is too expensive for ability to connect V-mount batteries to Epic/Scarlet.

I think RED thought (and hoped) that REDVOLTs are the future. But they're simply not the answer to every production needs.
That's why we have choices. And now with the DSMC Quickplate Module we will have another excellent choice.

It's not only a question of price. It's simply impossible to mount the backpack to a DSMC module. You can only mount it directly to the EPIC.

Well, to be fair, Jarred did say a month or two. It's only now approaching the "two" mark. Seeing as nothing ever really goes according to schedule, I'm not expecting to hear anything till at least the end of the month.

Dont worry guys.. didn't forget about this one.

Thanks Jarred. This would surely get me in the vmount game after being invested in redvolts so long.

Being invested in a lot of the DSMC Rail Components, I hope whatever RED comes up with will be highly compatible and configurable...

Don't worry.. Jim and I both still use V Lock RED BRICKs all the time.. we aren't getting rid of them anytime soon... there is a ton of new V-Lock stuff coming down the pipe..

One thing we just finished prototypes of this week is the new V2 battery plate that goes onto all these bits... It is way less Janky than the first one... and its shorter as well... so when you put it on a backpack on an Epic or on the back of a module, it is the same height as everything ( battery will still stick up of course ) . Huge improvement. O... and the new V-Lock rear module also has 2 x 2 pin Lemo AUX power outputs instead of that dreaded D tap.

Crap.. so much for keeping this stuff secret.
