  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Dragon....

I don't care if are Compressed Jpeg's or a super compressed Vimeo or Youtube vid, all I care is to see what Mark has shot and what we can see off the DRAGON sensor!!


Would I prefer to see it on a 100' Screen in full 4K Glory? What a stupid question... OFF COURSE I would!!


But I will sure content my self with seen something NOW on any quality any format, you can't give DRAGON or any 4K finished material justice by showing it off at even the best 1080p HD output, but it will show what it can do, Dynamic Range Latitude and other parameters that the sensor is capable of delivering can be observed just fine... For now.


So... Bring it on Mark... We are waiting for you to show us what you have shot buddy... ;)

And also lowlight is very interesting to see, even at 1080 ;-)

I remember that during the Scarlet release. We had to resort to twitter for info. Hopefully that doesn't happen here tonight, cause I must see this stuff before going to bed for the night.
 
how about a 4K youtube upload? Stoked to see what you did with this mark. And Mark, as always, you are what is exemplified on this forum. A talent that truly does his best to help others grow. Thank you for everything.

Indeed. While the forums was down, I was so glad the people there were cool enough to spread the news as it was happening through other means. Great crowd. :D
 
I second youtube 4k upload (if there's time) IMHO is better than 1080 vimeo, even at worst compression.
 
It's funny how I had found myself on an other brink of disastrous economic situation...

Yet all of a sudden the final decision to go back to LA to shoot my first Short film & Movie, forced me to sale everything, and now the good thing is that there is money for D R A G O N upgrade... ;)

The Epic MX is a fantastic camera, but I get bored fast, and I am the kin of guy that needs a push sometimes, and DRAGON is bringing that.


RED seems to put life there were there was none left, and call me crazy, but I see the DRAGON as a new start, anew Chapter in my life, (I know I had a few already) but this one is "IT" this is my last start, form here on I'l be unstoppable...


And the M8 DRAGON will see more action in the next few months in LA then it has seen in the past 3 years... ;)

ND filters are archaic.

I was just thinking about this this morning. Why they've been around so long is a mystery. They'll be gone very soon. RED's motion mount is one of those innovations you wonder how life ever was before.

In less than three years and every high end digital camera will have copied this item, probably integrated into the camera build itself.

But we are there. Final parts are now being sent off to manufacturing and customer upgrades will begin the first week of September.
