So .. was in a production meeting/ scout today and at one point I noticed a random glitch in the camera

It was as if the image had shifted to the right and looped around ...

Anyone have that happen to you ?

Where the right half of the frame loops around to be on the left side in a split screen fashion ?

Did i accidentally enable some kind of random wipe feature? (i doubt this is the case but worth the ask)

I did momentarily freak out. .. I shut down the camera and started it again and it seemed fine...

But i would hate for this to happen during an actual shoot

I've had this happen too when changing the resolution back and forth from the Full Frame to Wide Screen format in 4K/5K (it only happens in 2:1 or WS format), the playback of the particular recording will also be split/shifted but it's back to normal after the the camera is restarted. The actual file is also normal when played on a computer.

I'll try to find the exact step to reproduce the issue.

ive had this happen when switching resolutions also, but it goes away on my camera with a lcd unplug and replug... no restart needed

I don't think it's related to sensor, it's more up to LCD preview. As far as I remember Red always had some glitches related to an LCD. Different cameras, different appearance, but always LCD preview. In some cases this happens due to lcd cable wear (like lack of touch on the right or left side of the lcd, or lcd doesn't show an image after power up), in some - due to changing resolution, or previewing focus zoom (literally almost the same as changing resolution).

It may distract sometimes, but usually you get used to it and never mind about it. Reboot and go on. Doesn't help? - try another lcd cable.

Yes thats is also according ty my experience. Files have never been affected for me so far. A reboot or some fiddling with the monitor cable or swapping resolution in camera back and forth and all is fine. A bit nerve wrecking the first couple of times but not much to worry about. If if does not go away I would see the monitor cable as the first suspect.
