Very impressed with the DR and colors from the Dragon. The motion mount + Anamorphic combo looks awesome in my opinion. Shooting mostly at ISO 500 and it looks great, incredibly clean and tack sharp. Overall improvement from MX. The attached screenshot was shot on the Kowa 50mm PL mount.

Kind of surprised that nobody else has said anything about this image. If this doesn't scream "celluloid," I don't know what does. Probably the best colors and texture I've seen out of a RED camera, at least for anyone going for that film look. Of course, if you were going for the modern, super-clean, super-sharpened clinical look you'd just buy a Sony. Surely the grade and lens choice here has a lot to do with the feel, but it really looks great.

I used Google's search by image feature to check if you had maybe just ripped a frame grab from some movie shot on 35mm anamorphic trying to dupe us... And not only were there no matches, but all the "visually similar images" it brought up were largely from movies that were shot on film. You're doing something right!

Been doing tests with our Dragon + MM + Kowas as well. IMHO, it's the perfect combination. Throw in some screw-on diopters and you've got an extremely portable setup.

Anamorphic on Dragon is quite a new story compared to what we were getting with MX. Now if only I could get my hands on some Hawks.. ;)

Thanks!

Yeah, the roll off + improved colors when graded for a film look makes the Dragon a pretty amazing anamorphic camera!

I agree completely! Really want to try the new Vintage '74 and the Cooke Anamorphics on the Dragon. Imagine the results are stunning.

We want more of these!

Hmmm...

Luke posted this one before, then it vanished.

Not sure if it's alright to re-post it, but it looked good to me.

Edit - More pics put up while I was posting. Looks great.
