  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

DP//DIRECTOR REEL

I thought that was just beautiful. Incredible images. hats off sir.

Nice work! Beautifully stitched and shot!

On a related note, this piece is up to almost 400K views, and a staff pick, on Vimeo...and it sounds like the RED folks may use some aspects in their next red reel - shot mostly on EPIC, some FS700 as well..(and gopro) https://vimeo.com/57343365

Thats nuts! This is maybe a stupid question but why do they throw the paddle when they go down?

I was going to ask the same question. It seems logical that the time the paddle would be most needed would at bottom of that gigantic waterfall..would love to know as well

In recent years, the style has changed from "tuck with the paddle" to "huck and chuck" - throwing the paddle away. The paddle itself was a common source of injuries, mostly broken noses, and broken (expensive, carbon fiber) paddles. The younger guys are now running larger drops, and have bombproof hand rolls - they can roll very well without a paddle. So they get to the bottom, roll up with no paddle, then paddle by hand to their nearby paddle (paddles float). Or have their bros below grab the paddle abd bring it to them. Voila. Unbroken paddle, unbroken paddler.

Realize, only perhaps 500 people in the world do this though...if that.
