The youtube version is going viral on the internet with about 4 million views in two days. Very cool.

The lenses, film grain and dolly moves added to that cinematic feeling. Love it.

Great job! Am I right to assume many of those flares + light leaks were post effects?

Thanks guys - BrendanLeahy - all flares were done in camera - we used a maxibright light - it's like a big underwater flashlight they used on Star Trek. We flared a lot - maybe too much (hehe) - it's like smoke - you can never have enough :)

Everyone on my facebook has been reposting the video. Great job. Looks beautiful

Hey Ed, you mind posting a link to the exact Maxbright flash light you used? Never heard of them before.

FANTASTIC JOB!!!

FYI to all, as if it isn't obvious already, Ed David is an exceptionally talented film maker and cinematographer. Its great to see him sharing his RED work on the boards.

Wow... Subject matter and content-deep, cinematography, sound and production top notch, inspiring, especially as a owner of 2 Leica R sets  ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE GRADE, can we get any info on how you go tto the final look? Amazing piece, not sure i've seen anything else that looked more like film shot on RED, bravo.

thanks so much guys
the flare light we used is the maxa beam

you can buy them here:
http://www.peakbeam.com/

or I can rent one to you in NYC and my pal Russell Bell in LA can rent one to you as well over there.

We put full CTO on it to make it look more like sun and less like a weird blue beam :)

Ed, nice job, great look, flares are just subtle and just strong enough... nice honest portraiture... beautiful skin tones... just well done.

great color grade too, company 3 has some magic grain dust that's for sure :)

Very nice look & feel, and emotional

Absolutely amazing.. Yes it looked great, but the story was touching. I've said it a bunch of times when I watch these videos because of REDUSER links. If you can make me forget why I'm watching, you've done an amazing job. I forgot and was immersed in the human emotion. Well done! Will be posting this on my Facebook page as a video to watch because its amazing, not because it was "shot on Red"
I think everyone is getting caught up to much on what to shoot on rather then being creative..

I'm glad my camera can shoot 5K, but it doesn't make me a better filmmaker.

Thanks for posting!

Excellent. Shooting toward windows and all. Did you need much fill?
