Kyle, what if RED had never mentioned anything about Scarlet in the last three years and only unveiled it to the public (in it's current, final form) with the announcement they made on Thursday. Would you be upset then? If not, you need to adjust the way you process the information that RED communicates during the development cycle (or just stick to buying products made by Canon and Panasonic).
Haakon I would be upset, but not on Red, just because there is still no good afordable camera for most of us.
I am already upset from that time when I first saw how amazing picture can deliver tiny 1/3" chip from DVX 100 camera, when they hack it with Andromeda! That was quite shocking, same glass, same hardware but freaky crazy big gap in quality. That was fabulous, that difference between horribly washed out fuzzy miniDV picture and clean rich and sharp picture which was even 1K resolution and in 4:4:4! That was what I always wanted! http://www.flickr.com/photos/kmvlondon/sets/72157623456520622/detail/
I always know that there is something wrong, but this was the proof. And then suddenly came Red and tried to change paradigmas in indie level sector, so there was hope for something, but they didnt make it this time ... and so we must still fiddle with drawbacks of bad picture quality from our DSLR
