Does Epic take Compact Flash?

Does anyone know if Epic takes Compact Flash cards (I could only find mention of the RedFlash). There doesn't seem to be room on the side to fit a CF module like on the Red One. The back end of the Epic is suspiciously absent from all the photos - maybe there's dual CF slots on the back like with Scarlet (incidentally does Scarlet record to both CF cards at once (as if it's a kind of Raid 0) or is it more like the HVX (fills up one card and goes straight onto the next? If that's the case are they hot-swappable?)

Nice! Thanks, inside-man! So just one CF slot by the look of it? How come Scarlet has two & are they recorded to simultaneously or one at a time?

Possibly because @ 100MB/Sec CF is not the prime suspect as a recording medium for this bomb.... 5k...

On the other hand, for Scralet, most will record 3k/2k @ 28 for recording times on buget. But you can still integrate it as an SFX cam on an EPIC shoot, possibly with raided CF's

Just my 2c

Seems from the PDF that Epic will record to "REDFLASH". Could be the CF is just there for settings and firmware updates. Anyway, this will probably still evolve along with flash technology before the camera actually ships!

Can't see an SD card slot so maybe the CF slot takes over from that on Epic? One CF's never going to handle 100MB/sec unless Red are counting on some giant leap in CF technology by the middle of next year? Maybe you'll be able to choose lower data rates that will fit onto CF. If the only real recording option is Red Flash that adds another $4,500 price tag to your $30,000-$40,000 investment.

Perhaps it is possible to arrange the CF cards in an raid set up. 2 cards together might do the trick.

That's what I was guessing Scarlet was doing with its dual CF slots. I'm assuming a single Compact Flash card wouldn't be able to handle 3K at 100MB/sec?
