  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Does Camera Brand Matter to Distributors for Theatrical Release?

What? come on now all that Hollywood cream my pockets with your money jazz is old. A known actor will take your budget do a little acting and leave. if you are not a director on the Hollywood A or B list they will not pick up your movie. The DP? go to film school or get someone that went to film school and graduated, people tell you how to burn your money on all of this stuff right but i just heard a guy shot a movie using 2 go pro's and it's going to the box offices everywhere...hmmmm I think we spend to much time trying to copy Hollywood dreams then on our craft.

In one low budget film, the DP protested that he can't work without a walkie to call his assistants. In no time he was fired. Certain things may be necessary in big productions but not in small ones. Small films are like guerrilla warfare. Junk the non-value added processes of the big-budget film projects.
In America, 2 walkie talkies (like a Motorola CP200 16-channel UHF) are $5/day in rental. I would walk away from a producer unwilling to spend money on something this simple and basic. If spending $50 on a dozen walkies saves 15 minutes a day from having to wait for somebody or figure out if the crew is ready, they've already paid for themselves. They're about as necessary on a set as coffee and electricity.
