  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Do I get this right about S35?

I checked the specifications in the pinned thread. So the Super 35mm Helium sensor is bigger than film Super 35mm and cannot be used with Super 35mm lenses to shoot with? Or am I mistaken?

It's best to check the individual lenses themselves. Most Super 35mm lenses actually do cover 8K FF on Helium.

I've compiled several lists of lens coverage, but this is a good starting point:

In terms of being true "S35", 7K HD is pretty "nail on the head"-ish if you are deliberately trying to match the exact format.
http://phfx.com/tools/formatCompare/formatCompare.cgi?formatOne_typeTech=Kodak%7CFilm&formatOne_format=Super+35mm+3-Perf&formatTwo_typeTech=RED%7CHelium+8K+S35&formatTwo_format=7K+HD&focalLengths=

So, in 7K, a lens would need an image circle that could cover 29.58mm. Do I have that correct?

And therefore, Sigma's 18-35 would be a tad too small?
