  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Taking a shit on AMP (a RED Sponsor and internal supporter of all things Octo RED) and constantly questioning my performance / integrity in order to defend DJI's every action or inaction . . . with none of the supporting facts . . . is what you do best Peter. How they still have you on the team is a mystery to me.

Props to Patrick of AMP for stepping up for the RED Community. He certainly is doing the best he can given the circumstances.

But don't come here with your unwarranted accusations and smart-ass comments...

While I might have questioned your integrity - at this point I am questioning your sanity, 'cause the hypocrisy in your posts is just too much to bare...
If anyone is taking constant shit on a REDUSER sponsor (RED needs no sponsors) - it is you with the constant attacks and insults on DJI.
I have always respected what all the various REDUSER sponsors have done for this community - I have even brought few of these sponsors here myself.
Heck - I myself was a REDUSER sponsor for a long time and will be again soon enough...

The irony is that if anyone is making statements, insults and jokes here without any supporting facts - it is you.
I guess I can understand now why you have already been banned once from this forum...

FYI - it was Patrick himself who politely asked me to delete that reply, as he is sick and tired of being dragged into this conflict.
So you reposting a deleted post is questionable to say the least.

For the last time - I am on nobody's "team". I am not employed, or being paid by DJI or any other party. With the same passion I support and post about PARALINX, MANFROTTO, GLIDECAM, MAXX DIGITAL, THE FOUNDRY, CANON (lenses) and many other gear I love to work with.
If you stopped your pointless attacks and insults in the first place - I would have no reason to respond.
Your latest jab at the eye-line joke on the Helix thread (http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?115003-Letus-Gimbal&p=1394594&viewfull=1#post1394594) and the smart-ass comment about DJI on this thread when people were simply asking for clarifications from AMP (http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?115680-DJI-Ronin&p=1394608&viewfull=1#post1394608) are good example of all the above...

I am getting dozens of requests daily to just ignore you.
And I would like nothing more to be honest, but I can't stand by and watch you throwing your insults and attacks - what ever motivation you have behind them...

So it is up to you to stop this once and for all...

AMP is becoming a great source for us here in Kentucky. We picked up an S1000 last month and the Ronin this month. They've been incredibly friendly with Patrick himself really stepping up putting in the extra hours in communications/emails. It shines through in spades and we really appreciate it. Looking forward to the Ronin next week and picking up some additional accessories from them. Thanks again Patrick!

Very good of Patrick to step up and do the best he can, since this is driving everybody a little crazy.

I propose one last thing- the only person who has not got into this latest turmoil is Willis. I am sure he is just as deep as can be, but he is the Dji rep and made promises.

The way I see a nice amicable settlement and I hope Zeb and Peter can shake hands and we all move on to working on getting all the damned gimbals working is-

1. Patrick ships at 2820. I for one am not asking for a refund but a credit at AMP.

2. Since the thumbwheel is not available yet Willis works out a deal with Dji to give it to the original group buy members, when available as promised.

In this we all give a little and everybody gets a lot.
 
Agreed Scott. Patrick is doing his best - no doubt. He is offering the 10% off of the $2.999,- retail as per the group buy promise and nobody can demand from him a free shipping (the box is indeed huge and heavy - frankly I am surprised he is able to ship it for only $120!), nor the free battery at this low price.
As per the thumbwheel control - let us hear what Willis has to say. I know he is finishing his trip to China shortly - so he must be in overdrive over there. I am sure he will jump on here as soon as he can...
I will update the GB pricing accordingly in my thread...

Suggestion: stop focusing on my short comings and the over-the-top defense of DJI and start producing content. You've had that Ronin for what a month now and have posted one iffy test that included a bungie strap assist and post stabilization. Perhaps stop typing and start testing or better yet . . . buy one like I did and put it to professional use.

Also, rather than requesting the Mods to clean up your posts - perhaps stop posting personal attacks and stick to the mission of impartially testing and reviewing gear and let DJI take care of themselves.

If DJI have said so then I think dealer has no option but to give the 10%. Plus a free thumb controller for all group buy folk. Which again Willis has mentioned. I haven't heard any U turn on the thumb controller or the 10% discount from DJI. I've been following all the Ronin threads closely.


Adding to my original post. As Willis is representing DJI on this forum he should be collaborating with dealers so that they aren't out of pocket. If the original deal is done- 10% off & free thumb controller for group buy folk. This deal should be world wide for all group buy folk. I think if there is a u turn on this, this is going to leave a sour taste in peoples mouth. Plus adding to DJI already low after sales service rep from past that is already out there.

Not a problem Jeff. I'll agree to stop defending myself when Peter agrees that my comments about DJI / Ronin are not an invitation for personal attacks on my GB performance and integrity. DJI can speak for themselves without the aggressive response from anyone here every time there is a question about their actions or product. Follow this thread from #73 forward to see how this develops again and again.

Let's stick to debating the merits of the gear, impartial analysis and leave the words "you" and first person attacks out of our posts. I'll agree to that in a heartbeat

edit: What serves the RU community better?
1. Holding the feet of the GB manufacturers to the fire to make sure they do what they say and perhaps more
2. Blindly defending them and attacking those who challenge their actions

DJI has a customer service / support record in the hobby world that is a Yelp 3 star at best. I know since I own $1,000's of their product. They need to come way stronger if they expect to compete in the Cine world. Providing replacement parts here in the USA and having a service center other than Shenzhen would be a good start.

Does anyone know when the U.K distributor ProductionGear will get supplies in? Put our order in today. It will be nice to test it when it is bright and sunny. :drool:

The Ronin's Have arrived at my shop. You have no Idea what its like unloading close to 100 57lb cases and carrying them into the shop LOL

I have 3 Employees working VERY hard to get as many as we can shipped today. We are processing refunds through your original paypal payment. Anything that was paid over $2820 is being refunded. In the event that Paypal refund payment is not possible, we will send you a company check for the refund.

The FINAL DEAL IS $2820 SHIPPED. DJI is not covering all that for me, It is something I am doing for only you guys out of my pocket. There is NO thumb wheel included. If Willis wants to personally have DJI ship you guys one, that is on him, I have nothing to do with that.
