I have a Dragon hooked up on a Ronin with zero wires coming out of it. I am actually using a Teradek wireless transmitter to send the video from the Dragon to a Shogun mounted on the handlebar (zero latency) just 1 ft away instead of mounting the Red Touch via a wire. Only annoying part is having to connect the red touch monitor to change some settings as my hotlink and redmote are not the most reliable but I figure once its set I won't need to do much else on the monitor.
I am doing some shots that require the Camera to point all the way downwards and find that having the wire would cause the balancing to be a bit off and it would flake out unless I really had it balanced good. I guess another plus is not draining the Dragon battery as fast by powering the LCD through it.
Is this overkill? Is there another way of connecting the Red Touch monitor to the Dragon without effecting the balance too much? I have a RED 18" LCD cable but it's pretty thick. Would love to hear some input.
